For larger breeds such as French Lops – British Giant – Flemish Giant etc… This 5ft extra large rabbit hutch and run combo is made from Redwood and has an exterior graded hardwood ply base panel.
Includes a waterproof rabbit hutch roof with insulation for the outdoors
The roof is boarded with the same shiplap as the hutch and is constructed on the same principle as the traditional roof on a domestic house. Beneath the boarding is an industrial breathable membrane to ensure a watertight construction. The roof also has a 3” (75mm) overhang to all sides.
We only use 1st class materials for an unbeatable build quality
The hutch is constructed from Swedish Redwood and is cladded on the outside with 12mm shiplap. The door frame is made out of a substantial 34mm x 46mm section and comes with two solids boarded doors at each end and an open central wired section in the centre. The left hand end of the hutch is designated as the sleeping area and there is an internal divider that can easily be removed in seconds to allow you to clean the entire hutch throughout. (The right hand door can be altered to a wire door if preferred.)
Bolts included for extra security
On the right hand side there is a pop hole created in the floor of the hutch to allow your pet to access the attached run below. The run measures 6ft long by 5ft wide by 24” high. The run is screwed permanently to the underside of the hutch.
The run has three lids panels which are foldable but can also be completely removed as a set. They are held in place with toggle clamps which are a quick release mechanism.
The hutch doors come with a black tower bolt as well as a turn button for added security. The tower bolts are a standard feature on all solid doors but can be upgraded to padlock bolts for a nominal charge.
We can accommodate bespoke requirements to your hutch
This hutch is made entirely in the United Kingdom by us and is not sold by any other company in the UK.
This is a superior quality and well-constructed hutch offering almost 21 cubic feet of living space and 57.5 cubic feet of outdoor space.
The hutch is pictured in green pressure treatment and illustrates the Winter Panel.
Add-On Options
A Sliding Door Kit can be fitted to the upper floor so as to block off access to the ramp. E.g. when closed you can confine you bunny upstairs or downstairs.
A Hinged Rabbit Hutch Roof Kit can be added at the rear so that it will open and close like a lid. It has a bonnet like stay to keep it up, and a hasp and staple at the front so you can lock the rabbit hutch roof closed!
Winter Proofing Panels can be fitted to cover any wire mesh opening for additional winter rabbit care. The panels simply clip on to help keep your bunny warm in winter, creating an excellent winter rabbit hutch. The panels provide extra warmth of a night and also maximum security from predators.
A Central Door Conversion Kit can convert any central fixed wire panel to a wire door. Although you can reach into this area through either of the end doors, the additional kit will allow fuller access to the middle area of the hutch.
Padlock Compatible Lock Upgrade. All solid doors have a tower bolt fitted. However you can have this bolt upgraded to a lockable version which will accommodate a padlock.
Optional PVC Coated Mesh Flooring Panels can be added to the underside of the rabbit hutch run for additional predator protection when placed on grass surfaces. The panels are simply laid on the floor and the weight of the hutch and run combo keeps the panels in place. The panels are made up from 2″ PVC coated wire mesh, so they are kind on the bunnies feet! You will need two Panels for this hutch

Pressure Treatment Options
For maximum protection, we can tanalise your product (a form of pressure treatment) to help give you up to 10 years without the worry from dry rot and normal decay typical to all outdoor wooden furniture. Click here to find out more.
Maintenance
All our products are finished with a Teak water based (non toxic) preservative. The timber should be re-coated with an equivalent preservative every year to ensure the maximum life span of the product.
Oil based coatings are the best as they tend to repel water before it penetrates the timber fibers.
Re-coating is best undertaken on a warm dry day or even better after a dry spell when the timber has had time to dry enough to absorb the coating you are applying.
Additional Protection
Here’s a bit of a tip – get yourself an atomizer spray!
Get yourself an atomizer spray – the sort you do your indoor plant leaves with. Most DIY shops sell what’s called a waterproofing agent. Thompson’s Water seal is a brand name but “B&Q” do their own brand.
Fill the atomizer with it and spray over the external surfaces of the product a couple of times a year. It’s really quick and easy. Don’t forget to wear appropriate mask and gloves. Follow the Health and safety instructions on the container.
